Labour Day Long Weekend Camping - Fintry Provincial Park

Thursday September 2 - Monday September 6

Hey campers! Let’s do this! Due to covid restrictions, we were unable to secure the group site at Fintry. If you are a family group, however, you might just be able to get a group site at Fintry for these dates. Fintry is a great campsite just outside Kelowna.

You will be booking your own campsite (try for the #1-50 campsites so we can be all together in the same area, but it doesn’t really matter). All the sites are just steps from the beach and lovely Lake Okanagan.

To book: go to https://discovercamping.ca . Create an account for yourself before July 2. Take a look at “Discover Camping Step-by-Step Guide” prior to booking. It shows you how to do it all. Familiarize yourself with the site prior to booking date.

Reservations for September 2 are activated 2 months prior. At 7:00am on Friday, July 2, on-line reservations open up for the first of our 4 nights. You don’t have to stay all 4 nights, but chances are better to get in for the long weekend if you plan to be there for the Thursday night.

Note: You will only be able to reserve Sept 2-5. Monday Sep 6 onward is First Come First Served. The park operator will check in with you on site and collect payment on site.

For booking on-line, choose “Fintry Park” and select date & length of stay. There is a map of the actual campsites with numbers and locations. Look around the website for a box that says “Park Info” & scroll to “Maps and Brochures”. If you have large camper or RV, site #20, 26, 29, 31 are pull-throughs. I suggest if you are interested, set up your account now and familiarize yourself with the campsite and map prior to booking date. These campsites go fast so plan ahead. Check the Frontcountry Camping Reservation Policies for Changes, cancellations and Refunds.

There are many activities available for campers besides sitting around the campsite straightening the woodpile. Of course, there is swimming and hanging out at the beach. In addition, there is the hike to the waterfalls and walking along the extensive shoreline. Golf is not too far away, and the area abounds with wineries to visit (advance reservations may be required). You can drive east in to Kelowna or take the road north and end up in Vernon. Just south of Kelowna is lovely Penticton and the famous Naramata Benchlands. Last year, some brought bicycles and rode a section of the picturesque Kettle Valley Rail Trail.

Plan to join our friendly Inside Edge Club group for this adventure (Stay up to date with provincial Covid travel restrictions guidelines).

NOTE: Learn about Recreation Sites and Trails B.C.’s ongoing response to COVID-19. If you are travelling to B.C. from another province or territory within Canada you are expected to follow the same travel guidelines as everyone else in B.C.
