We spent a few days at Pierre's Point last month. That was the site of the "Summer OKs" - six ski clubs got together for summer shenanigans. The summer festivities went on for fourty years and at it's peak had around 600 attendees. Each club had to have a theme and decorate their campsites accordingly. There was a stage for skits, dances, games and awards. There may have been drinking.
These days Pierre's Point is mostly seasonal campers who build decks and shelters. The water was still high at the mid July and some of the RV campsites were tent sized. Small tent sized. There were sandbags around some of the buildings so the water level is falling.
It looks crowded but most of the RVs were vacant
I had some firewood delivered to the lodge. The early delivery will let it dry over the summer and fall. Suppliers always claim the wood has been "seasoned" but sometimes it still shows up damp.
A few members stopped by to help fill the shed. Thanks to Alex, Kevin, Rob, and Kathy (who took the picture and kept us fed).
We spent a few days at Cultus Lake. The original plan was to have the tenters set up in a flat area by the beach. It turns out that the wind blows up the valley and straight at the campsite. People were unable to set up tents. Some could barely hold on to their tents. We ended up with the RVs by the beach blocking the wind and the tents further back away from the water.
Then it was time to relax.
